We are offering Soil Testing Equipment, which is supplied with stainless steel penetration test cone 35 mm long with smooth polished surface and an angle of 30 deg. It has a facility for adjusting cone height in relation to the specimen and ensures trouble free operations.
ASEW-030 - Rapid Moisture Meter IS : 2720 (P-II), IS: 12175.

Consists of counterpoised balance of 6 gms for weighing the sample, scoop for Measuring carbide reagent, a set of steel balls, Calcium carbide reagent 500-gram bottle, & a cleaning brush in a nice wooden carrying case. 0-25% or 0-50% .

Speedy moisture tester is a portable system for measuring the moisture content of a wide range of materials including soils, aggregates, dust and powders (and liquids).

The system consists of a low pressure vessel fitted with a pressure gauge and an electronic scale and test accessories. Moisture measurements are made by mixing a weighed sample of the material with a calcium carbide reagent in the sealed pressure vessel. Includes durable case.

The reagent reacts chemically with water in the sample, producing acetylene gas that in turn increases the pressure within the vessel. The pressure increase in the vessel is proportional to the amount of water in the sample, the moisture content can be read directly from the calibrated pressure gauge.

Large one also available with 20 gm balance .

ASEW-033 - Rapid Chloride Permeability
Rapid Chloride Permeability Test-(RCPT) Complete Set.
ASEW RCPT is used for measuring the electrical resistance of concrete against the penetration of chloride (RCPT) according to the standard methods such as ASTM C1202, AASHTO T277 and ASTM C1760. The measurement data derived from this test method can be used to estimate the chloride diffusion coefficient of concrete in service life predictions and structure design, as well as durability-based quality control of concrete. Its used in penetrability testing in concrete laboratories and meets the specifications of ASTM and AASHTO specifications.

ASEW-034 - Direct Shear Apparatus electrically,
Direct Shear Apparatus electrically, IS: 2720 (P-xiii), IS: 11229, ASTM D 3080, BS: 1377. (12 rate of strain).
The Direct Shear test is carried out with an apparatus consisting of a square divide into two halves . The specimen contained in the box , is subjected to a constsnt normal load while an increasing horizontal force is applied to one of the sections of the shear box. The force causes a shear failure along the junction between the box sections. He shear force and the normal load are measured directly. The rate of strain is adjusted by the speed of horizontal force applied. The loading unit has V strips on which the shear box housing rests. The precalibrated load yoke helps counter balance the loading system . the load yoke with direct and trough level system for applying normal load upto 8 kg/cm2 capacity, fixtures for proving ring , brackets for holding consolidation and strain dial gauges are provided . The lead screw coonected to the shear box housing helps application of shear stress.

Determination of soil shear strength is essential for designing the foundation of structures, soil and soil retaining structures, soil slopes, etc., Shear strength of soil depends on various factors and insitu soil conditions. Therefore, when laboratory tests in soil are performed to evaluate shear strength of soil, the insitu soil conditions and other factor should be simulated for obtaining meaningful results. For example, the Unconsolidated Undrained test on soil will yield the undrained strength, which can be used for finding the immediate stability of an excavation, whereas a consolidated undrained test with measurement of pore pressure can be used to evaluate the effective strength parameters of soil for designing the long term stability of an earth fill dam.

It is well known that the engineering behaviour of soil depends on the effective stress and not the total stress. The effective stress can be calculated by measuring the total stress and subtracting the pore water pressure from it.

To cater to the needs of shear strength determination of soil, arrange of equipment is offered, as listed in this section.

For testing specimen of size: 38 mm dia X 76 mm long. Perspex (Acrylic Plastic) chamber with an anvil and a loading plunger. The cell is easily split by releasing four tie rods. Leak proof upto 10 kg/cm.sq fluid pressure. An oil plug and air vent are provided for introducing a thin layer of oil over water. This provides an effective seating at the plunger for long duration tests. The cell is fitted with four ball valves of no-volume change type, at the base. The apparatus consists of a pressure chamber which has a flanged top cap fitted with a 10Kg/Cm2. Pressure gauge and a valve for pumping in air. Water inlet and drain cock are fitted to the chamber. The foot pump supplied easily develops a pressure of 10Kg./Cm2 Complete with connecting pressure hose.
ASEW-043 - Bishop Pore Pressure

Consists of Pressure gauge, Bourdon tube type 200 mm dia Manometer Glass U tube, measures low positive and negative pore pressure and helps to check zero error of pressure gauge. It is provided with a mercury trap. (Mercury supplied at extra cost).Null indicator, Perspex with mercury trap and cursor to indicate the mercury level. Burette 50 ml for measurement of volume change in the soil specimen, Pressure pump, fitted with four ball valves, copper coil & water reservoir.

Note: All above parts are fixed on a panel suitable for mounting on the wall.

during the entire period of operation to maintain the desired pressure. The unit provides continuous variable pressures upto 20 kg/cm.sq. is increase or decrease simply by turning a control knob. A transparent oil water interchange vessel is provided to transmit water pressure to the test apparatus. The internal components are protected by a strong compact housing. ASEW-046 - Volume Change Gauge, Sensitive.
Volume Change Gauge, Sensitive. The apparatus consists of a volume measuring polythene tube running along both sides of a scale and connected at both ends to two mercury trap. These traps are connected to flow reversal valves through a manifold. The length of the polythene tube is enough to measure 6 ml volume of fluid per cycle. A small pallet of mercury is introduced in the circuit to be used as a curser, and the movement of pallet is measured. The unit is tested to a pressure of 20 kg/cm2 (20 bar) and is designed for wall mounting.
